November 7, San Mateo, Calif.—IPSolutions, Inc., (IPS) announced today that two more courses from the Stanford Advanced Project Management (SAPM) curriculum are now available for delivery at client locations around the world. These two additional courses, Financial Mastery for Projects and The Strategic PMO: Projects to Enterprise, along with seven other SAPM courses, can now be taken on campus, online, or on site at a client location. Financial Mastery for Projects enables leaders of complex, global programs and projects to understand the impact of program and project decisions on corporate financial statements. The three-day course provides a high-level understanding of financial statements and how the creation of new products, processes, and services via programs and projects directly affect those statements. Course participants learn powerful techniques for assessing the financial impact of program and project decisions, as well as what can be done to improve a project’s financial performance and return on investment, if necessary. They leave the course understanding the relationships among strategy, portfolio decisions, finance, and program and project management, as well as how to assess program and project investment options using discounted cash flow analysis and related financial tools. The Strategic PMO: Projects to Enterprise uses an innovative strategic project management office (SPMO) options matrix for understanding how to best support strategy execution using engagements, programs, and projects. Comprising one or more team members, the SPMO is a unique organizational entity focused on those activities necessary for complex, global programs and projects to be successful. This three-day course provides proven approaches for designing, implementing, and managing SPMOs, and it addresses the roles of politics, power, and organizational change. Participants leave the course with a practical framework for defining, creating, implementing, and managing an appropriate, effective SPMO. As the SAPM industry partner with the Stanford Center for Professional Development, IPS helped develop the SAPM program in 1999 and continues to bring an industry perspective to the award-winning professional development program. In this role, IPS continues to help update and present all program courses on campus at Stanford University; IPS also delivers SAPM courses at client locations. |
